The Chrysler Airflow is expected to arrive in 2024 as either a 2024 or 2025 model year vehicle. When Will the Chrysler Airflow EV Be Available? By 2026, the plant will have an annual production capacity in excess of 45 gigawatt hours. The new entity is building a dedicated battery production facility in Windsor, Ontario in Canada this year, and will begin manufacturing lithium-ion battery cells in 2024. The company hasn’t released specifications for the electric SUV, however, its batteries will be developed in a joint venture between battery supplier LG Energy and Stellantis. Recycled materials are used throughout the interior, and pedestal-style seats maximize legroom and create more passenger storage space. Other similarities to the Wagoneer can also be found in the Airflow’s front row, which is outfitted with a square steering wheel and a full dashboard of screens, including in front of the passenger. STLA Brain’s autonomous technology will also likely appear on the 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. This self-driving technology was developed in conjunction with BMW, and possibly leverages some technology from its partnership with Waymo, which uses modified Chrysler Pacificas in its robo-taxi program. The next-generation system enables Level 2+ and Level 3 driving capabilities, which means the vehicle can operate without driver control under certain circumstances. It also will use the STLA Brain, an electronics and software platform that offers over-the-air updates for AI-based applications that control the telematics, navigation, voice assistance and payment services. The Airflow’s interior features a “SmartCockpit,” developed in conjunction with Taiwanese manufacturing giant Foxconn, which has been increasing its presence as an automotive manufacturer and supplier. Top recharging speeds can provide up to 20 miles per minute or 200 miles in only 10 minutes, and the company says some vehicles using that platform can log a zero-to-60 speed in as low as 2 seconds. It can house battery configurations between 37 kWh and 200 kWh and achieve more than 500 miles of range. The platform will underpin the brand’s mid-and full-size SUVs, pickup trucks, and American performance-oriented muscle cars. The STLA Large platform, which is designed for vehicles measuring between 4.70 and 5.40 meters long and between 1.90 to 2.03 meters wide, is one of four platforms parent company Stellantis developed to help the company meets its goal of electrifying 98% of its European and North American models by 2025. However, the STLA Large platform can handle larger motors for higher performance. Riding on 22-inch wheels, the show concept car features contoured lines and a fast-back roofline, two 150 kW electric motors with all-wheel drive and can achieve up to 440 miles on a full charge. Although full specifications weren’t provided, it appears to be more or less the same size as the Ford Mustang Mach-E (with emphasis on more) with which it will compete. The fully functional Chrysler Airflow concept, revealed at the 2022 New York International Auto Show, blends performance sedan and practical crossover into a new aerodynamically forward SUV. ![]() The second generation of this marque could continue this tradition. With styling cues reminiscent of Art Deco-era trains, the revolutionary car was developed with unitized body construction to improve passenger safety and tested in wind tunnels to improve its aerodynamics. When the first-generation Chrysler Airflow debuted in 1934, it was one of the most advanced vehicles on the market.
